Q: Do you charge for a consultation?
Yes. Any time we are discussing the specific facts and circumstances of your New York conflict in an effort to guide you to resolution, there is a charge. You’re not just paying for our time. The fee is also to avoid accumulating the years of education and experience we did. (Trust us; it’s a lot less!)
We assume several risks when acting as your lawyers and providing you legal services.
Q: Do you represent small businesses?
Yes. We might represent a New York small business in a one-time penalty negotiation or on a monthly basis, depending on your unique needs under the circumstances. We also offer legal consultations on a project basis, such as to negotiate terms of a contract, prepare for an audit, or write a Values-Based Employee Handbook.
Q: Have you worked with large corporations?
Yes. We have worked or continue to work with international and multi-national corporations operating in the New York building trades, funeral, and transportation industries. Most of them have bargaining unit or “union” employees in the five boroughs, on Long Island, in Westchester County, Buffalo, or Albany.
Q: Are you licensed to practice law outside of New York?
No. Nance is only licensed to provide legal services in New York and can only provide legal counsel on NY or federal law. However, we have a wide network and might be able to help you find an attorney in the jurisdiction(s) you need. Also, our conflict resolution services are available worldwide and online.
Q: Which court or agency locations do you cover?
We cover workers’ compensation cases throughout New York State for existing clients, especially now that virtual hearings are available. We also conduct alternative dispute resolution processes and investigations by telephone or videoconference. When it is cost-effective for both of us, we can also go on-site.

Testimonials
[Nance’s] advice has been very comforting and given me confidence and structure to move this along. ~ D.H., Business Owner, NY
Nance and I have been working together for [more than 15 years], and I must say I couldn’t be happier with her perspective, intelligence, and ability to produce exactly what our business calls for. As a company that has no similar footprint, in screening attorneys for counsel we found many who wanted to lump us into categories that made sense to THEIR PRACTICE rather than really listening to who we are and what we do. Nance’s ability to set aside her assumptions and really get into the weeds of our services and the legal aspects of our growth made all the difference. That she does this with an emphasis on looking at the relationships being established and how best to express their spirit contractually makes her one-of-a-kind. I recommend her whole heartedly. ~ T.T., Business Owner, NY
Nance and I met years ago as members of Ladies Who Launch, a women’s entrepreneurial networking group. Over the years she has been a wonderful friend, and legal advisor to me in my many entrepreneurial ventures. Nance brings her wisdom, intelligence and insightful legal counsel to bare in all her endeavors, and I highly recommend her services to every business person. ~ I.S., Business Owner, NY
