It’s Day Five of #MyMarchMadness, and I’m admittedly sluggish. Between the busy 15-hour days I’ve had each day so far in this workweek and the head cold that won’t stay down for the count, I’m already having a bit of difficulty keeping my focus. Now, it’s snowing heavier than it has most of the winter–and it has snowed pretty heavy this winter. (Hey, Mother Nature! You realize it’s March, don’t you?)
Still, I manage to restore my focus each time it shifts. I have this skill in part due to the personal and professional development courses I have taken at Landmark Worldwide.
A lot of people have mixed feelings, if not strong ones, about Landmark. I am among those who have mixed ones. I’ll write more about my views at another time. Today, I am simply appreciating what works.
Dear #Landmark:
#HappyWorthDay! Today, I am celebrating the value you have brought to my life.
Thank you for:
1. Helping me put a lot of my past where it belongs. There are aspects of it that still come up in my present, and I still sometimes put it into my future. Yet I wouldn’t be half as free as I am today, if I had not taken The Landmark Forum in 2004.
2. Helping me create more loving and powerful relationships with the people in my life. I have relationships with my sisters, mom, other family members, ex-boyfriends, colleagues, opponents, and strangers that I never thought possible. I might have developed them eventually though other programs (including my own), but you gave me a fast track. I love that I don’t have to wait to have a great life.
3. Developing and empowering my leadership. I’ve served as a coach and a group leader in your programs, and again you have given me a fast track to recognizing what works for me and what doesn’t. You give me a safe place to practice without judgment or harmful consequences so I can apply what I learn in my business, family, industry, and communities. I avoided a lot of leadership opportunities before, and I failed at others. I am now building effectiveness with every course, if not every day.
In short, you make a difference, even when you doubt you do. I hope you will put your focus on making an even bigger difference.
